Welcome to the Pace Lab

The Pace Symposium

Thank you for joining us in celebrating 25 years of microbial diversity, 40 years of RNA research and 65 years of Norm Pace! It was great to see everyone here to celebrate Norm's amazing accomplishments! Click this link to see photos from the symposium and watch Norm's keynote address.

March 2008 : Dr. Norman R. Pace was chosen as the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement in Science Award from the RNA Society at the Meeting of the RNA Society in July 2008! Norm will be in Berlin to receive the award and to give a presentation. Congratulations, Norm!

May 2007: Dr. Norman R. Pace was chosen as the recipient of the Abbot-ASM Lifetime Achievement Award! Norm presented a lecture at the meeting of the American Society of Microbiology in which he re-iterated his stance on the negative impacts of the erroneous term "prokaryote" in science education. He recieved a standing ovation from the audience! Click on the link to see the powerpoint file of the speech he presented at the Toronto ASM meeting on May 22nd.

Go Norm, Go!

Introduction to the Pace Lab:

The activities of the lab largely have involved (1) studies of structure, function, and processing of stable RNAs; and (2) the development and application of molecular methods to the study of microbial ecosystems.

Our lab is located in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, in Boulder, Colorado. Boulder is a great city for academics with the University of Colorado, NCAR, NOAA, NIST,and a strong biotechnology industry. It is also a great place to live because of the fabulous weather, outdoor activities galore, a lively music scene and nightlife, good dining, and generally fun atmosphere.
